You were named one of the Top 100 Technology Leaders by Technology Magazine in 2021 and 2023. In your view, what makes a great leader in the technology field?
Arungalai Anbarasu: A great technology leader is someone who envisions a future others cannot yet see and inspires their teams to make it a reality. They combine strategic foresight with empathy, encouraging innovation while staying purposedriven. They value diverse perspectives and promote collaboration to achieve breakthroughs. Above all, they lead with resilience, transforming setbacks into learning opportunities, and motivating others to do the same. True leadership in technology means creating a future that benefits both people and progress.
When you have time off, are your hobbies technology-related, or do you seek a different kind of balance?
Arungalai Anbarasu: In my free time, my priority is my daughter, Ada. Spending time with her allows me to unplug, be present, and appreciate the moments that truly matter. These moments ground me and remind me of life’s deeper purpose – nurturing relationships, embracing love, and shaping the future through those closest to us. While I am passionate about sustainability and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) – making a positive impact wherever I can – it’s the joy and balance I find with Ada that truly fuels my soul. At my core, I am a mother, and it is through this role that I find the strength and inspiration to contribute to creating a better world.
